Introduction:
This document tries to give a quick overview of the different general purpose applications which are included in ConSys.
List of ConSys General Purpose Programs:
-
Console:
- The major program for operators. The Console has three views: A list view, a graphics view and a control bar.
- ReSto:
- The main program for storing and restoring parameter values to/from files. Parameters are uploaded from the machine in groups (defined in the database) and store to a file. Parameters to be downloaded to the machine (restored) are selected from a given setup-file with a sequence file. A sequence file contains a list of parameters to restore.
- CSPlot:
- A general purpose program to plot parameter versus time. All settings including which parameters to plot, their colors and line type, and axis setup are stored in setup files.
- Datalogger:
- A general purpose program to log parameter values at regular times to an ODBC compliant database (in reality a MicroSoft SQL server). Different criteria can be applied to inhibit logging for different groups of logs.
-
MassScan:
- An application to to scan a separator magnet and record the current in a Faraday Cup as function of ion mass.
- CSNote:
- A program to display a short message as a hanging popdown from the top of the screen.
The StateMonitor:
The StateMonitor is a operator configurable state and alarm program. The state of the machine (or machine part) is defined in a tree like structure, where the general idea is that the overall state of the machine is represented by one 'lamp' which can indicate 'OK' or 'Error' (or some warnings). The tree can then be opened and the status of individual components (supplies etc) can be inspected. Each node in the tree can be configured to issue an alarm (audio, email (SMS), or just an entry in the alarm list window).ConSys Management Programs:
-
DatabaseEditor:
- A program to help edit the ConSys database to setup and maintain parameter definitions.
- ConSysManager:
- The program for device definition and setup, for the participating (frontend) computers.
