Malta’s Luqa airport is located ~7 km (4 miles) southeast of Valletta (see the map below). There are regular scheduled services between many of the major European cities and Malta. Airport Facilities

  • Money and communications: There are two banks and bureaux de change, as well as a post office and a telecommunications centre.
  • Eating and drinking: There are numerous restaurants and cafeterias throughout the airport.
  • Shopping: There are several shops at the airport, including tax-free.
  • Luggage: A left-luggage service is available.

Malta Tourist Information (tel: +356 2369 6073/4) is located in the Welcomers’ Hall and is open 24 hours a day. Additional information is available online (website: www.visitmalta.com).

Travel by Car

On leaving the airport, take the main road to Marsa, which leads to Valletta. Drive north towards Valletta, passing Portes des Bombes, towards Floriana and then towards Marsamxett Harbour. The Hotel is on the left hand side. The city centre and airport are both clearly signposted.

Please note you drive on the left hand side of the road in Malta.

Public Transport

  • Taxi: There is a fixed-fare taxi service to all areas of Malta. A taxi booth is located in the Welcomers’ Hall where pre-paid tickets can be purchased. The journey time to the hotel is around 20 minutes and will cost about 20 Euros.
  • Bus: There is a regular bus service between the airport and Valletta which takes 25-30 mins. Bus number 8 departs from a stop outside the terminal check-in hall, you can see the timetable here. The bus terminus in Valletta is only 500 metres from the hotel.
