The COST Action has led to the development of a larger European community seeking to develop research in radiation damage. This has led to several ideas for projects suitable for EU Framework Support and in September 2005 19 members of WG1, WG2 and WG4 combined to submit an application for a Marie Currie Training Network to the Framework VI programme. A larger submission is in preparation for an ESF Programme on Radiation Damage (to be submitted in November 2006. In 2007 the topic may be developed as an application for an ESF EUROCORE project.
