In this page information is given about the ways to reach the conference site.

General Information
The Seminaris is located 50 km from the centre of Berlin and Tegel Airport and can be reached by convenient train connections. Potsdam has a ICE train station serving local, national and international trains.

The hotel is located in a forest near the waterfront of Templiner Lake, the address is:

To reach the hotel:

  Travelling by car:
From the Highway (Autobahn Berliner Ring) take the exit to Potsdam and drive to the City Centre of Potsdam. Very soon you will find green boards in the streets indicating the hotel guiding system, which will safely bring you to the Seminaris hotel.

  Travel by train and airplane:
The Metro (U Bahn) and City Train (S-Bahn) let you continue from most points of arrival in Berlin (Map). From the centre of Berlin the journey to the Hotel will take 1 to 1.5 hours. From Berlin-Schönefeld airport it takes about 2 hours.

The best way to get to the hotel is from the Zoo Railway Station (Zoologischer Garten) which is the Main Railway Station in Berlin.

To reach the Zoo Railway Station when arriving:
  - By train: Trains from abroad stop at the Zoo Railway Station. Some ICE trains also stop at the Station Potsdam Hbf, which is convenient for the hotel (see below for travel details from Potsdam Station).
  - From Berlin-Tegel Airport: From the front parking lot take the bus 109 (pay the driver), which brings you to Station Zoo (terminal stop). You may also take a taxi which would cost about €13.
  - From Berlin-Schönefeld Airport: There is a direct City Train (S-Bahn) to the Zoo Railway Station using Line S9. It takes about 1 hour.

After arrival at the Zoo Railway Station take a Regional Express train leaving every 30 minutes to the Potsdam Hbf Railway Station  (timetable). The train takes about 20 min. The Regional Express stops at the Station Wannsee. For those who are travelling to Berlin by train check whether the train stops at the Wannsee Station. In this case, you can take the Regional Express from there and continue to Potsdam Hbf (timetable).

At the Potsdam Hbf Railway Station  you will find the Seminaris Courtesy Bus (go to the Info Point, there will be the driver holding a board “Seminaris”), which will wait for participants of RADAM05 each time a Regional Express arrives (every 30 min.). The Courtesy Bus will run on March 16th between 14.00 and 20.00 o’clock. For departure on March 20th the Courtesy bus will run from 8.00 to 14.00 o’clock. If you miss the Courtesy Bus, take a taxi between Potsdam Hbf and the hotel Seminaris, which costs about €14.

The Railway Station closest to the hotel Seminaris is Bahnhof Pirschheide. We do not recommend using this Station since the train connections are rare and there is no taxi service. You risk running 850 m through the forest with heavy luggage.

After having read this you may have the strong desire for a less stressful transport from/to the airport. In this case you can order a limousine at the Seminaris Hotel Reception (+49 (0)331 9090-400) a day before arrival (or departure). The hotel has special arrangements with a limousine service having reduced the usual taxi fare of about 75 Euro to a fixed prize of 40 Euro from or to Airport Tegel (independent of the number of persons). Tell the Seminaris reception your arrival time and the limousine driver will wait for you at your exit gate at the airport. The limousine service also goes to the centre of Berlin for the same price. The limousine is recommended for groups of 2 and more persons.

The travel to the hotels may appear tedious, however, the survivors of the trip will enjoy the beautiful hotel Seminaris, which will compensate your great effort to find your way.
