ISA meeting

Week 44, November 2, 1999.

Status of the ring: Ion run 2/99 has started. We are now running 129Xe++ from the EBIS source. Later, this will be charge-exchanged to Xe-, if we are able to get sufficient current.

The EBIS: A leak valve was mounted on the EBIS last week, and we now run Xe from the residual gas.

Ion Run 2/99: The schedule is available on the www.

The schedule for next year has now been finalized. It is as follows:

Things to be made for the next electron run should be brought up now if you want it to be ready in time!.

Advanced Design Consulting, which is a company producing synchrotron radiation equipment (beamlines etc) will be visiting ISA on Thursday Nov. 4. If you are interested in meeting their representative, please contact SVH.

The Microtron had vacuum problems following the power shutdown last week. An O-ring in one of the main dipoles had to be changed. A new material is now being used, which is more radiation resistant. The microtron will be ready again this week.
