ISA meeting

Week 24, June 10, 1997.

Status of the ring: The electron cooling run last week, using D+ was successful. The velocity spread was reduced from around 10-3 to about 10-4. This week, we are running HD+ and NO+ for the electron cooler group.
The vacuum in the ring has been improved by closing the valve to the window in corner two. KI will leak test it, such that it can be fixed and used next week.

The electron cavity is now having its flanges renovated, and this seems to go very well. It should be back here and ready for reassembly next week.

UNIX: ISA will get the UNIX workstation mentioned in last weeks report.

The EBIS now has a new cathode, and has been baked. The vacuum looks fine, and we will start aligning the electron beam this week.

New ISA server: TW reports, that the control system and database have been moved to our new server, KUPNU. The old, BABYZY, will be reformatted next week, so if you have anything on it which should be recovered before then, please let TW know.

The positron beamline is not yet under vacuum, but will be soon, according to JM.

Posters for the visitor platform should possibly be put up before the festivities on Friday. Empty frames can be obtained in our meeting room, next to the control room.
