ISA meeting

Week 14, April 1, 1997.

Status of the ring: Injections during the Easter vacation have been very stable. Last Saturday, we reached over 200 mA of accelerated current. We hope to maintain that level during the remaining weeks of this electron run.
One reason for this improvement is, that we now have direct and precise control of the Microtron RF frequency from the control room. In addition to that, beam alignment has gradually improved.

The Undulator: This morning, we have again been working with the undulator. A fairly large leak in the beamline was fixed just before Easter, and this morning we tried to reposition the beam in the ring such that the undulator beam is centered while keeping beam positions constant for the other users.
JSN has calculated the necessary correction dipole adjustments, and so far it looks good

The Mirror chamber for the undulator beamline is ready from the workshop, and will be assembled, baked and pumped during the next 1-2 weeks. Nevertheless, it was decided, that The Miyake monochromator will be moved to the undulator beamline as soon as possible without the mirror chamber. It is baked and ready for repositioning.

The SCIENTA seems to be working well. Tests will continue in the remaining weeks of this run.

Copies of the transparencies from the Lund meeting will be placed in our meeting room, where you may take a look at them.
