ISA meeting

Week 3, Jan. 14, 1997.

Status of the ring: During the past week we have been running negative ions for Dror Kella & Co : BN- and O2-. Both the separator and ring have been running well.

Yesterday we started running negative clusters for P.Hvelplund and collaborators. We have started with Aluminum clusters, and will change to Carbon later in the week.

The microtron is still running well. Both stability and pulse shape are better than during the last electron run, so we hope for improvements in beam current and reliability during the coming run, which will be opened to users in week 7.

Already now, JM is using the microtron beam for the positron test beamline.

At the ISA board meeting last week, it was decided to build a new SGM for the undulator beamline. A mirror will be used to switch between the new SGM and the monochromator which is being installed now.

It was also decided to have a tighter time schedule and a priority assigned to the various large projects. The large projects are:

EBIS

ELISA

Undulator beamline

Electron cavity plunger modification

Separator moved

Cleaning of present injection beamline

Positron beamline

New SGM
