The COST Action has led to the development of a larger European community seeking to develop research in radiation damage. This has led to several ideas for projects suitable for EU Framework VII support, 16 members of the Action have combined to submit an application for a Marie Currie Initial Training Network. A larger submission for an ESF Programme on Radiation Damage was submitted in November 2006 and in 2007 the topic may be developed as an application for an ESF EUROCORE project.
