ISA meeting

Week 46, November 13, 2001.

Status of the ring: Electron Run 2/2001 ended yesterday morning, and we are now preparing for Ion Run 02/2001, which will start on Monday Nov 26 and run for the remainder of 2001. You can see the ASTRID 2002 schedule on our schedule page.
Before the next electron run, a number of activities are planned:
We plan to have a close look at the RF system to see, if we can find the cause of the problems we experienced in the run that just ended.
We plan to get better diagnostics such that we will be able to keep a more stable beam during undulator movements.
During the last weeks of the last run, we got a good handle on the quadrupole supply problems, and hope those problems are history.
We will do preventive maintenance on the microtron pulse forming network, oscillator and vacuum system.
A number of temperature sensors will be installed such that we can catch cooling water problems before they become fatal.
