ISA meeting

Week 34, August 21, 2001.

Status of the ring: The ring has been running well most of the time last week. We have not had any problems with the quadrupole supplies, so it seems the repair last week was a success.
We have tried to solve the problem experienced by the UV1 beamline when the undulator is moved. There is a small integrated field error on the undulator which varies with the undulator gap. We tried to compensate it using the correction dipoles, using an intensity signal from the UV1. It was very difficult to do, and we decided to wait doing more until we can get accurate beam position measurements.
This morning there was a vacuum problem in the microtron. During the night, a valve had closed, and the interlock system did not react correctly. It will not happen again, since we have made a software interlock. It is planned to modify the entire interlock system next year, and the new version will be a lot easier to modify than the present one.

ELISA An axle on the motor generator broke on the ELISA injector during the weekend. It is being fixed now, and ELISA will be back in operation later today.
