ISA meeting

Week 14, April 3, 2001.

Status of the ring: During the past week, we have had some problems getting high currents injected. We have been unable to locate the problem so far, but still hope to find the cause before the run ends.
The present run will end on Monday April 23 at 08:00, the following week will be used for the changeover to Ion Run 1/01, which will start in week 18, i.e Monday April 30. The schedule for the coming ion run may be seen on http://www.isa.au.dk/schedule/2001ionrun1.htm .
The ion injection beamline has been made ready for the run. The charge exchange cell is loaded, and the beamline including the cryopump has been baked. The vacuum looks very good. Next, charge exchange of Li2+ to Li- will be tested in preparation for the first experiment. A ~1 microamp Li2+ beam has been produced in the EBIS by injecting ~5 microamp Li+ from the separator.
