ISA meeting

Week 6, February 6, 2001.

Status of the ring: Everything is still going well. Currents are generally around 190 mA initially, and the lifetime is still improving. We plan to stop making an afternoon injection starting in week 8. The new tune tracking program is now in operation. It seems to help the instability problems seen on UV1 when the undulator gap is changed, but instabilities of unknown origin are still present. We will continue to try to determine the cause of the instabilities.

The Science Research Council (SNF) visited the institute last Monday. The visit was a success, and the SNF members were very positive.
