ISA meeting

Week 4, January 23, 2001.

Status of the ring: Last Friday, we reached 200 mA of accelerated and stored current in ASTRID, so thing are running very well, especially considering that the run just started. Lifetime is still improving, and will continue to do so during the next few weeks. Until we reach an acceptable level, we will continue to make two injections a day, usually 08:30 and 16:00.

The ISA www pages: JSN will take care of coordinating the task of getting everything up to date, and will of course ask some of you to update the pages dealing with the setup or experiment for which you are responsible. Frontpage 2000 has been chosen as the tool we should all use to produce the pages. A new email alias has been made: ISAWebMaster@ifa.au.dk . Anything sent to this address will go to JSN and TW.

The SGM3 monochromator is ready to start next week. Gratings are back in place, and the monochromator has been calibrated.

UV1 is being checked and re-calibrated. This will also test the beamline performance for e.g. UV absorption measurements. The work is being done in collaboration with Nigel J. Mason, Molecular Physics Laboratory, University College London

The Nordic Ring Meeting 2001, which will be held in Jyväskylä, Finland, is proposed to be held on Sept 5-7 2001.

An email service is being set up, which can send you an email when the hall is opened following injections. You can receive the message as an SMS message on your mobile phone or as a regular email. Contact JSN for details.
