ISA meeting

Week 2, January 9, 2001.

Status of the ring: The changeover to electron run 1/01 is proceeding as scheduled. The bakeout of the RF-cavity, the new undulator chamber, corner 1 and the injection beamline is finished, and the vacuum looks good in all sections. The undulator has been adjusted to a new minimum gap of 23.0 mm. Just now, the radiation shielding is being put back in place, and as soon as that is ready this afternoon, we will start injecting electrons. You can monitor our progress on the ISA status page
We hope to have a beam for users next week. Poor lifetimes are to be expected initially mainly due to outgassing from the new undulator chamber.
The schedule for the electron run is available on the www at http://www.isa.au.dk/schedule/01SRRun.htm

Work is progressing on the EC application for financial support under the program SUPPORT FOR ACCESS TO RESEARCH INFRASTRUCTURES. See e.g. http://www.cordis.lu/improving/calls/ari_200003.htm. The deadline is February 15th. You can contact SPM if you want to see what has been written so far.
