ISA meeting

Week 33, August 15, 2000.

Status of the ring: The ring has been running very well. Stored currents have typically been >170 mA, still with a good lifetime, typically larger than 25h. We have had minor problems with some power supplies during the past week, but everything has been fixed, and this morning we injected >200 mA, of which 178 were stored. We now use white-noise vertical excitation every day.

Monochromators: SGM I: Our Chinese guests finished their run Saturday, and were able to take a lot of good data back home to China. Jens Onsgaard (now at Aalborg university) will start on the SGM I some time this week. Unfortunately, the LEED 'curtain' has broken again, and the chamber will be opened today.
The Copenhagen group is now starting on the SX-700.
The X-ray microscope has a new pinhole installed, and will now be realigned.

S.A.L.A. - "Synchrotrons, Accelerators and Laboratory Astrophysics" will be held at IFA during August 30 - September 1. See info on http://www.isa.au.dk/sala/index.html.
