ISA meeting

Week 31, August 1, 2000.

Status of the ring: Last week, the microtron HV-supply was fixed and the old undulator chamber was baked, such that we were able to start injections Friday. There has been beam during the weekend, and everything seems to be running well. Beam current and lifetime is improving. This morning we accelerated about 120 mA, which has a lifetime of about 15 hours. Until this number improves, we will have two daily injections, at 08:30 and 15:30. Changes in this schedule will be posted on our status page.
Beam position as seen by the SGM1 is unchanged from electron run 1/00.

Monochromators: Experiments are starting up, and the SGM1 has obtained the first results already. This beamline is visited by two guests from Shanghai, China, who will be here for two weeks.

Computers: TW has sent an email to those of you, who still has the temporary internet files in a directory under your profile. The problem with that is, that your profile is transferred from/to the server each time you log in/out, which takes a lot of time and space. Please move the temporary internet files to another location on your disk.
