ISA meeting

Week 19, May 9, 2000.

Status of the ring: The changeover went as planned, the bakeout is completed, and the vacuum looks good. Two things are not yet ready for the run: There are some cooling problems with the new correction dipole supplies, and the new switch for the main dipole supply has not yet arrived. Both are expected to be ready during this week.

Ion run 1/00 will officially start in 1 week, but already now, the EBIS beam is being prepared for the Li- experiment. The EBIS has been set up to run Li2+, and delivers 1 microamp inside to the ring .This should be sufficient for the charge exchange to Li+ and Li- which is scheduled to run in weeks 25 and 26.

ELISA has finished the fullerene run, which went very well. It is now being set up to run O- and He- to be used in student exercises.

The UV1 monochromator has been taken apart for some minor modifications.

The next electron run is being prepared already, and in a few weeks a list of changes to be made on the ring and the beamlines will be compiled. If you have wishes for additions or modifications, please bring them up now.
