ISA meeting

Week 8, February 22, 2000.

Status of the ring: The change of the plunger motor last Tuesday seems to have helped injections. Last week, over 170 mA were stored, so it may have been a problem for some time.

The SGM-1: The LEED curtain is being mounted again, with an improved design.

The UV-1 gratings will perhaps be here in week 12-13. They will be exposed next week in Sweden, after which etching etc. will take another few weeks.

ELISA is now running Mg+ to be used for laser beam diagnostics this week. After this, the new cylindrical bends will be mounted.

The EBIS still loses 90 % of the beam by passing the electrostatic switch. Leif Liljeby from MSL in Stockholm will be here Thursday and Friday to have a look at it.

The Positron trap still has problems with lifetime. Electrons can be trapped for hours, but positrons only for seconds. JM et al is working on solving the problem.

K.G.Rensfelt and Håkon Danared from MSL in Stockholm will be here on Monday and Tuesday next week to study ELISA.
