ISA meeting

Week 7, February 15, 2000.

Status of the ring: The ring has been running well, but we have had a few problems: One of the quadrupole-supplies was unstable during the weekend, but yesterday the control cards were changed, which seems to have solved the problem. Yesterday, one of the plunger motors on the RF-cavity did not give a correct position feedback. It was changed this morning, and now everything is well again. 150 mA were injected this morning with a lifetime of > 30h.

The SGM-3 grating is here, but damaged as expected. We will receive a replacement later.

The SGM-1 LEED curtain is broken again. A new design will now be made.

The EBIS beam was viewed with the new beam scanner last week. The beam size is OK, so now we have been looking at the 90 deg. electrostatic bend to find the problem with getting the beam down the beamline. It seems that there may be some errors in the design of the bend. It is currently being simulated, and will be modified if necessary.
