ISA meeting

Week 5, February 1, 2000.

Status of the ring: After running ASTRID with low currents last week for slow degassing of mirrors and gratings, we are now operating with injected currents of around 150 mA. The lifetime is already good, around 25-30 hours at 140 mA, and longer at lower currents.

The last grating for the SGM-3 monochromator has been etched (successfully) and is now being coated prior to shipment.

A beam-scanner and a Faraday cup is being mounted on the EBIS in order to investigate the focusing of the extracted beam.
