ISA meeting

Week 30, July 27 1999.

Status of the ring: Electron run 2/99 has now started, and it looks good! The microtron is running very well, and injections are fairly easy. We already have over 150 mA of stored beam. The lifetime of the beam is still bad (~5 h.), but will improve with time. This week, we will try to keep an accelerated beam in the machine much of the time, and will inject two or three times a day. If the run continues as this, conditions should be good for users in week 31, which is when the user time is scheduled to start.
Information we have now indicates that the beam position is OK, but users should check this carefully.

The Control System has been upgraded, and especially transport times have improved dramatically. All machines will be upgraded in the near future.

The UV1 monochromator is being installed on dipole 1. Just now, the grating mechanism is being mounted. It is still uncertain when the gratings will arrive. This is also the case for the SGM3 gratings.
