ISA meeting

Week 23, June 8 1999.

Status of the ring: The D- run for PB et al went well. The first Feshbach resonance was seen in more detail than ever before by using a very well-cooled beam. Even the asymmetry parameter could be measured. In addition to this, the second Feshbach resonance was observed for the first time with a e-cooled beam, and there were even traces of the third resonance. Congratulations to the group on these exceptional results.
Yesterday, we started running HeNe+ for LHA et al. We can get ~400 nA out of the separator, which is sufficient for injection and acceleration in the ring.

The Computer Group wishes to make some changes, which will mean downtime for the control system for perhaps as much as a week. We hope to be able to do it in week 28, which is the middle week of our 3 week shutdown period after this ion run ends.
