ISA meeting

Week 23, June 2, 1998.

Status of the ring: The laser cooling run ended on Saturday, since the motor generator on the separator broke down. This is now repaired. Next run is C2H2+ for the "electron-cooler" group. The active part in the new current transformer has stopped working. It is, however, almost as good as the old one after the failure, so we leave it in the ring for the moment.

The first beams has been seen out of the ELISA injector, and hopefully there will soon be ions in ELISA again. The minor problems with the vacuum interlock system have been fixed.

The super-conducting Penning trap from Mainz will arrive in the middle of august for installation in the positron lab. A support frame on rails will be needed for this installation.

Also, a new mirror-mount for David Field/Stuart Lunts experiment chamber is requested for an improved adjustment of the SR-light.
