ISA meeting

Week 37, Sept. 9, 1997.

Status of the ring: Beam conditions have not changed much since last Tuesday. We routinely get 140-150 mA of accelerated current. The beam lifetime is improving, it is now about 10 hours at full current. Yesterday, we tried various adjustments of the tunes and RF-system, but with no real improvements.

The Undulator Beamline is making progress, according to FF. The monochromator position and tilt has been adjusted, so the transmission is now 75% of the value observed earlier. The next weeks will be spent on further calibration and adjustment of the system.

The post-mirror chamber is pumped down. The pressure is now about 8*10-8 torr before bakeout.

The S-700 monochromator is back in operation! The alignment seems to be OK, according to SVH. The exit slit needs to be readjusted, since it was moved during the valve replacement, but measurements will start this week,

The SGM monochromator still has motor problems. It turns out, that the motor/encoder assembly used on the monochromator is not in production any more, and no parts for the system are available is Europe, so it will have to be shipped to Newport in the USA for repair.

The X-Ray Microscope is working well!
